About Terri
Terri is the Founder and Principal Consultant of Colone Consulting, dedicated to helping nonprofit organizations accelerate their success through grantsmanship, capacity-building, and strategic planning.
The Experienced Choice for Nonprofit Consulting
With robust experience in healthcare, project management, and nonprofit consulting, Terri brings a blend of operational rigor, strategic thinking, and humanity to every engagement.
With a lifelong history of community involvement, she is deeply committed to promoting positive change. Terri’s approach reflects her core belief that collaborative action leads to equitable outcomes and lasting change for every community. Her focus areas include health equity, food security, homelessness, and global humanitarian causes, and she is especially drawn to supporting grassroots and early-stage organizations that are building their foundations for long-term impact.
Before launching Colone Consulting, Terri spent over a decade in C-suite leadership roles, planning and directing operations, overseeing regulatory compliance, and guiding organizations through growth, expansion, and crisis situations. This experience sharpened her skills in organizational structures, group dynamics, and process improvement, skills she now uses to help nonprofits strengthen capacity, clarify priorities, and move from ideas to implementation.
Grantsmanship and More
Terri is a certified grant writer with extensive experience managing complex projects, timelines, and data-driven reporting. She is trained in the Nonprofit Lifecycles™ model and provides capacity-building services that meet organizations where they are, tailoring strategies to their lifecycle stage rather than applying one-size-fits-all solutions.
Trusted Services
Clients consistently describe Terri as organized, responsive, thoughtful, and encouraging, noting her ability to listen deeply, demystify the grant process, and gently guide organizations toward better systems, stronger strategies, and greater sustainability. Above all, she believes that every person has value and that, by working together with honesty, respect, and clarity, nonprofits can achieve lasting, meaningful impact.
A Commitment to Community
Her professional affiliations include the Nonprofit Lifecycles Institute, the Grant Professionals Association (national and New York chapter), and the Hudson Valley Nonprofit Consultants, reflecting her commitment to continuous learning and high ethical standards. Terri also serves on the Advisory Board for Housecalls for the Homeless and volunteers with multiple community organizations, demonstrating the same dedication to service in her personal life that she brings to her consulting work.
